Glad your mission is completed. Most of us here are open to discussion and change. We gave up being on a mission after our disappointment with the watchtower Society.
All the best. Hope Scottie beams you up to the mother-ship.
the time has come to leave this forum.

though many sages have tried to describe god and his purpose, the best they could do was to declare neti, neti (not this, not this).
to the question of god, even buddha responded with silence!
jesus declared: truth will set you free but did not say what that truth is!
When does God intervene in the affairs of mankind?
The opening title question makes the assumption that something called 'God' exists. Surely this premise has to be thoroughly examined before any meaningful debate can follow.
our family just lost someone dear and very close, a faithful jw.
as we went through the entire funeral services and meeting long time brothers and sisters, who in general have been very kind and warm towards us, we realize that the hope of resurrection is a meaningless utopia for us, like a fairytale for little children.
we don't have faith in it anymore, and serves us of no comfort.
Eden one; sorry to hear that you have lost someone you care about.
Island Man summed it up very nicely. Well done.
When I am dead I want it to be what it says on the tin.
Dead means dead.
the leaders of russia, germany, france and ukraine are slated to meet in minsk (the belarusian capital) tomorrow to discuss a ukrainian peace plan!
some countries such as hollande believe there is going to be a total war.
when they met last year in the same place, they had put forward a peace plan (a ceasefire, withdrawal of artillery, prisoner exchanges and other concessions) that were never fully implemented!

When I started reading this thread I was tempted to respond to Abiathar and Perry. DJS saved me the bother with his spot-on comments.
Abiathar and Perry, the comic duo, remind me why I left the JWs and finally abandoned all religion and belief in a sky daddy who talks through humans in riddles. I do honestly believe it is a form of mental illness.
"it is perfectly apparent that god is monstrous, utterly monstrous, and deserves no respect whatsoever.
the moment you banish him, your life become purer, simpler, cleaner; more worth living in my opinion.".
....
Watched the video; absolutely agree.
Stephen Fry is English which explains his brilliance.
rev 17:9 describes something about the "woman", the harlot, babylon the great:.
here is where the intelligence that has wisdom comes in: the seven heads mean seven mountains, where the woman sits on top.
and there are seven kings: five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet arrived, but when he does arrive he must remain a short while.. i was dreaming about this verse last night, so i thought i'd look it up.
i keep reading that jehovah's witnesses are in effect monsters.
i keep reading that they kinda leave chaos and distrust in their wake.
so i simply wondered if anyone had anything nice to say about them?.
i just came back from visiting family in south america (will keep the name of the country out for now) and i was shocked by the amount of jws i saw on the street.
keep in mind that most countries in sa have been under military rule until the early 80s, with the general fear and mindset sticking around until the late 90s, even when the military was gone and democracy re established.
jw were not around when i lived there.
if you do believe in the bible's message, do you believe society has gotten better, worse, or has remained the same?.
if you don't believe in the bible's message, do you believe society has gotten better, worse, or has remained the same?.
on a personal note, there are many things that i can't help but notice that coincide with what the apostle paul wrote to timothy in his second letter chapter 3 regarding tough times:.
The Bible is a boring, rambling collection of ridiculous stories and dreams. Personal I prefer the works of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass; they are more entertaining. Their absence of a mythical Hebrew desert god brings me much closer to reality.
